This will be a day long Network Building Event for Clemson Students at the Hendrix Student Center. The purpose of the event is to educate students how to pitch themselves and to learn more about tools available to network and help build relationships. Clemson’s NetworkBash will be split into multiple venues within the Hendrix Student Center that embodies seminar style workshops in the McKissick Theater and an interactive educational event teaching students how to make their “Pitch”.
Pitch Educational Program | 2:00pm – 5:00 pm
Hendrix Ballrooms & Meeting Rooms
The Pitch Educational Program will be an interactive tour for students to work with professionals to learn how to craft their “Pitch”, practice their “Pitch”, and finally document their “Pitch”. Each room will have industry professionals working with each students, engaging as they together create their “Pitch” to sell their ideas, their education, and their career goals.
When the students finish the Pitch Educational Program, they will walk away with a crafted “Pitch” forged by engaging in relationships with industry professionals as mentors and an online video showcasing their “Pitch” for future use.
Networking Seminars & Events | 1:00pm – 6:30pm
McKissick Theatre
1) Making the Pitch Training (1-2pm) ***For Industry Partners***
This will be where industry professionals and educators will be trained how to implement, execute, and carry out the Pitch Educational Program. Each will be assigned to Crafting, Implementing, or Publishing.
2) Twitter 101 (2:15-2:45pm)
This is where students and non-student attendees can take part in a workshop that explains the basics of Twitter and the relevant business applications.
3) LinkedIn 101 (2:55-3:25pm)
This is where students and non-student attendees can take part in a workshop that explains the basics of LinkedIn and the relevant business applications.
4) Blogs 101 (3:35-4:05pm)
This is where students and non-student attendees can take part in a workshop that explains the basics of setting up, maintaining, and actively engaging with blogs and the relevant business applications.
5) Face-To-Face (4:15-4:45pm)
This is where students and non-student attendees can take part in a workshop that explores the relevance of Face-To-Face Networking and Communication in the business environment.
6) Panel Discussion: Social Media – It is no more just about 101 (5-6:30pm)
This will be a five-person panel discussion consisting of John Warner, Olivier Blanchard, Trey Pennington, Phil Yanov, and Steve Gonzalez that will be moderated by Bobby Rettew. This will be a discussion concerning Social Media and how businesses are effectively implementing it into the business world as a form of communication.
